Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

As the Manager, Planning and Inventory Management, you will be responsible for driving financial performance and inventory productivity, with the goal of meeting/exceeding sales, margin and inventory turn targets. Partnering with Category Manager the incumbent will develop Category Strategy, create Merchandise Financial Plans, support assortment plans, reforecast OTB, collaborate on managing in-season business and drive permanent markdown management.

  • Partner with Category Manager to develop and execute category strategies based on customer feedback/preferences to achieve financial goals and business objectives
  • Partner with Category Manager in development of conceptual assortment plans and reconcile assortment plans against financial goals
  • Provide in-depth analysis of product performance and make recommendations to maximize business opportunities
  • Focus on the analytics, financial and inventory performance
  • Manage and maintain OTB
  • Manage allocations and inputs into the forecasting and replenishment systems working with cross functional partners to validate forecast
  • Partner with Category Manager to manage open-to-buy/business performance in-season to maximize sales opportunities
  • Support the Category Manager to collaborate with Store Design and Visual Merchandising on space planning
  • Develop merchandise financial/store plans and open-to-buy
  • Manage overall markdown process to ensure smooth launch/exit of inventory
  • Develop and execute financial/assortment analytics and reporting
  • Understand the impact to Indigo of changing external environmental factors
  • Develop replenishment budget
  • Work with Category Manager to develop allocation strategy by:
    • determining allocation and in-season readiness to monitor/manage allocation/replenishment performance
    • re-forecasting replenishment budget to inform Open-to-Buy
    • management of product flow from DC to stores, in-season
  • Communicate with and support stores and DCs
  • Accountable for managing Replenishment
  • Support the creation of the Store/location plans during MFP process
  • Ensure the completion of team deliverables and set/adhere to team budgets, as applicable
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
  • Challenge the status quo and consistently identify areas for improvement, diagnose issues and working to resolve them

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • 5+ years Retail experience or equivalent business-related experience
  • 2+ years of experience as Manager of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or equivalent
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze and utilize financial measurements including: sales, gross margin, receipt flow, OTB, etc. to impact the business
  • SAP or mass data experience
  • Ability to learn new technical applications and tools quickly
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to build and maintain productive and cohesive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to “sell” ideas and influence senior management, peers, direct reports and cross-functional/business matrix
  • Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to deal with change and uncertainty
  • Demonstrate solid problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines, multi-task and complete projects on time
  • Ability to effectively manage details, demonstrate good organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
