Job Description

The Associate Art Director leads concept development, art direction, visual strategy and execution of marketing deliverables for the Indigo adult social media channels.  This role will create platform-specific content that adheres to brand standards and responds to the strategic needs of each specified channel.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Functional

  • Responsible for overall aesthetic direction for the adult social media channels
  • Work closely with the social media team to deliver social-friendly content that supports marketing briefs/strategy 
  • Develop and implement an on-brand design system (colour palette, typography, templates, usage guidelines)
  • Partner with copywriters to conceptualize and deliver meaningful and resonant social campaigns and daily content
  • Conceptualize and execute seasonal photo/video shoots with in-house production teams
  • Partner with photographers, videographers, H&M, Stylists, talent, collaborators etc. to deliver social-friendly creative assets
  • Prepare and present pre-production meetings with external partners
  • Responsible for setting the overall creative tone for the adult social channels and ensuring alignment with the greater brand objectives
  • Oversee the designers to execute against the established look and feel Lead a team of graphic designers to effectively execute against each channel’s vision, and ensure brand consistency
  • Design and prep files as needed
  • Work on multiple projects from concept to execution, ensuring all components maintain a consistent look and feel that is reflective of the Indigo brand
  • Stays up to date on industry trends and techniques, while possessing excellent technical skills and a command of all aspects of post-production
  • Pitch, present and execute concepts to management (Art Director, Creative Director, Social Content Lead etc)
  • Design a branded style guide and templates for the social media designers and team to leverage for brand consistency and ease.
  • Manages and maintains quality standards for all close cutting and retouching of product shots
  • Share technical expertise and provide guidance to team of designers to ensure best possible image outcomes
  • Stays up to date on industry trends and techniques, while possessing excellent technical skills and a command of all aspects of post-production
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • University degree in a similar or related field
  • 3-5 years experience as a graphic designer or related practice
  • Broad knowledge of and advanced skills in design, photography, illustration, typography, video editing
  • Product styling skills are a plus
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to accomplish directives creatively and in line with briefs
  • Proficiency using Photoshop and InDesign
  • Strong understanding of typography, colour and graphic design practices
  • A broad aesthetic, diverse creative styles and an ability to bring to life a creative team’s vision
  • Balance creative thinking with time management, organization and execution
  • Have a deep understanding of design principles, and be able to apply and interpret the Indigo brand standards to channel-specific content Ability to constructively receive, distill and execute on company feedback, while helping to guide them through the process
  • Ability to convey Storytelling through various mediums, including photo and video
  • Motivated self-starter and creative thinker
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and passion for your craft
  • Excellent communication skills
