Job Description

As the DC Operations Manager, you will cultivate an environment that promotes authentic best-in-class employee and customer experiences across our Brampton Campus and is guided by our culture and our mission of shipping joy and knowledge.  The role of Operations Manager is one of collaboration, innovation, inspiration, support, and coaching.  The position helps to create and sustain a high performing culture.  The Operations Manager is responsible for business requirements in terms of quality, delivery and cost and ensuring ongoing consistency across all shifts by identifying and communicating priorities. The Operations Manager consistently role models the Indigo Beliefs and are a leader that sets examples for others to follow.



  • Support the development and lead the implementation of the DC Management Strategy and continuous improvement efforts
  • Driving consistency in both our Online and Retail facilities (Process, Goals, SOPs, and Results)
  • Supporting and influencing by overseeing adherence to Health & Safety policies & procedures
  • Define and implement best in class processes across Fulfillment & Outbound; Change Management approach
  • Ensure the completion of team deliverables and set/adhere to team budgets, as applicable
  • Use influence and industry knowledge to identify new opportunities for process improvements across both Channels
  • Understands the impact to Indigo of changing external environmental factors (competitive, regulatory, technical, etc.)
  • Ensure processes and reporting tools are in place to deliver daily and weekly targets provided by the DC Planning team
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
  • Influence and support Team Managers and Team Leads to ensure all shift objectives are met
  • Stay current on innovations within Supply Chain DC practices
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Challenge the status quo and consistently identify areas for improvement, diagnose issues and working to resolve them
  • Build strong teams by attracting and developing the best talent
  • Bring out the best in others, empower and constructively stretch talent
  • Give authentic feedback on performance and potential
  • Ensure all team members understand where they stand and have clear performance objectives aligned with Indigo and team goals
  • Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily

  • 8-10 years of Operations Management experience with planning responsibilities; at least 3-5 years of experience leading and developing high performing teams
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies an asset; Green belt also an asset
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive initiatives and implement change
  • Strong ability to communicate and influence all levels in the organization
  • Wins the trust of peers and team by focusing on relationships.
  • Role-models good leadership behaviors.
  • Possesses a natural curiosity and uses business insights to strengthen recommendations
  • Committed to continuous improvement and laser focus on the customer experience
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office ( high level Excel / Access knowledge )
