Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

As the Manager, Global Sourcing you will manage the development, sourcing and production of all Indigo propriety product, from conception through to delivery. This role ensures sourced product meets the quality, design and sustainability standards of the business and is produced and delivered within cost and margin expectations.

  • Manage development of product that meets design vision and margin/cost parameters established by planning and merchant teams
  • Support execution of Global Sourcing strategy
  • Identify and maintain a vendor network that meets needs of assigned categories
  • Allocate seasonal developments by vendor, in alignment with the long range sourcing strategy
  • Forecasting – insure adherence to capacity demand plans
  • Negotiate product cost with all vendors, ensuring target price and margin are achieved
  • Actively network within the industry, while building supplier and agent relationships
  • Partner with vendors to manage exceptions to T&A calendar
  • Act as the liaison between internal partners and factories for all concerns and inquiries
  • Ensure production quality, including verification that components and fabrics match back to standards
  • Provide technical manufacturing expertise
  • Monitor and ensure on-time delivery of all sourced product in assigned categories
  • Collaborate with merchant team, supply chain, logistics etc. to communicate revisions to delivery schedule
  • Ensure product integrity by troubleshooting testing exception reports with vendors and QA team
  • Facilitate daily/weekly production update meetings with design and merchant team to ensure all relevant partners are aware of production status
  • Manage all aspects of costing process, ensuring cost per unit and margin targets are achieved
  • Confirm order placements with each vendor
  • Oversee sample costing and tracking processes, including allocations; provide design teams with guidance on sample and tech pack deliveries
  • Manage review of all received samples, including partnering with design
  • Track sample development/adoption ratios
  • Monitor new industry trends styles/techniques allowing us to bring appropriate vendors
  • Coordinate packaging needs with Creative Studio; partner to insure costs reflected in FOB costs
  • Manage Tech. Pack process – timelines etc.
  • Ensure developments are executed to meet sustainability goals in both materials and manufacturing process.
  • Ensure the completion of team deliverables and set/adhere to team budgets, as applicable
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE: ​​​​​

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5-7 years’ product management experience in a retail environment
  • Previous experience in sourcing home and apparel products across global markets required
  • Previous experience negotiating product cost
  • Thorough understanding of brand pricing strategy, margin expectations and SKU Plans
  • In-depth knowledge of product sourcing, production and product development processes
  • Intermediate skills in Web PDM, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of design spec package
  • Proven organizational & time management capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • International travel up to 10% of the time
