Job Description

The Team Lead, Design (Social & Advertising) is a leader within the digital design team supporting the day-to-day execution, coordination and delivery of branded programs and initiatives to all external Marketing and Paid Social support. This role leads designers in applying their creativity, and design production skillsets to efficiently produce high quality, consistent and on-brand design deliverables, while continuously striving to evolve design systems and strategies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Functional: 

  • Build and develop strategic concepts and solutions collaboratively with the Sr. Manager, Digital Art Direction, and internal teams
  • Maintain digital brand asset style guides
  • Mentor and lead Junior and Intermediate UI Designers through creative reviews and workshops; provide quality assurance and feedback on all email creative
  • Ensure that all brand standards, content models and best practices are adhered on day-to-day work before projects are shared with cross functional partners
  • Review photo art direction on styling, composition, crops etc.; on digital campaign, promotions, motion graphics for Social and Digital Advertising
  • Collaborate with the Art Director, Digital Producer, Marketing and Creative Studio teams to adjust project goals and design decisions on the fly as necessary to adapt to changing situations and meet established schedules
  • Keep abreast of design updates and decisions as they pertain to Social and Digital Advertising at large; communicate and share knowledge within projects as needed
  • Keep abreast of performance metrics in social channel to aid continuous improvement decision-making
  • Proactively identify opportunities and initiate growth in emerging areas
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
  • Stay abreast of current digital trends to aid in the development of cutting-edge marketing, design and user experience concepts
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • Post-secondary degree in digital arts program or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in agency or in-house creative shop
  • An expert in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and Figma
  • Knowledge of common web languages (html; CSS; Javascript; & JQuery) are an asset 
  • Excellent conceptual, visualization, and design skills  
  • Demonstrated skills in graphic design and brand development
  • Strong attention to detail and professionalism
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on priorities, juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines while also balancing design requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems efficiently
  • Ability to lead and inspire others
  • An understanding of storytelling, craftsmanship, and continuity
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
