Job Description

As a Specialist, Talent Development, you will support the learning and development function through development, implementation, evaluation and administration of learning and development solutions that support organizational strategies, business objectives, and values.



  • Design and develop learning programs for core curriculum and compliance training
  • Produce materials for training programs, including facilitator guides, e-learning modules, visual aids, case studies and evaluation tools
  • Maintain programs within portfolio and their respective life cycle review dates – updating materials, revisions, additions etc.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations for existing Indigo learning programs
  • Work with internal business partners to provide needs analysis, training recommendations, design, delivery and evaluation
  • Launch new learning activities within the Learning Management System (e-learning, instructor-led, and Virtual Classroom); build associated learning activities, audiences, and properties; execute proper testing to ensure flawless implementation
  • Manage the Learning Management System support for end users
  • Review/audit and rebuild existing course structures, learning plans and audiences for improved functionality
  • Prepare reporting and key metrics for training programs and compliance
  • Manage the Learning inbox to support employees learning
  • Other duties and/or special projects as assigned
  • Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to collaborate with other business partners
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them


  • Build strong relationships with key cross-functional partners in Retail, Home Office, and the Distribution Centers
  • Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily
  • Share technical knowledge with others and actively seek to learn from those more knowledgeable than yourself
  • Help others see the impacts of their efforts and proactively engage other functions to get input
  • Encourage others to freely share their point of view and be open to feedback

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the areas of needs analysis, design and delivery of training programs and curriculum based on adult learning principals
  • 3-5 years’ experience in developing a leadership development curriculum
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment recognizing organizational needs and the ability to adapt
  • Flexibility in designing training for all modes of delivery (Experiential Learning, Self-Directed Guides, eLearning, Virtual classroom, webinars, job aids etc.)
  • Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, or equivalent professional education and experience
  • Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills
  • Experience within a retail environment considered an asset
  • Confidence to make judgments on work priorities and to manage expectations across learning team partners
  • High service orientation
  • Outstanding attention to detail – even in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with a strong focus on detail
  • Extremely organized and able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks
  • High degree of self-motivation and energy
  • Ability to know when to work independently and when to seek counsel and advice
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Articulate Storyline or similar
  • Experience of LMS, LCMS, online learning platforms
  • Video editing software
  • Bilingual (French) an asset
