Job Description

The Project Manager, Business Strategy & Transformation collaborates with senior leadership teams and business leads to ensure all strategic initiative projects are executed consistently across the organization with a high degree of strategic consultancy, communication, and collaboration. Acting as a liaison between project stakeholders. Project Manager serves as a problem solver and provides the process, questions, and techniques to efficiently extract the information needed from the business users to for successful project delivery. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

As the Project Manager, Business Strategy & Transformation,  you will: 

Functional

 

  • Manage through complexity and ambiguity by creating a structured, but flexible approach to project delivery
  • Create simple storylines from complex situations to enable efficient communication, visualization of deliverables and project engagement at all levels
  • Create and implement guidelines for evaluating the project's strengths and areas where improvement is required
  • Manage a cross-functional project team consisting of various stakeholders, typical of retail and digital organizations
  • Ensure master project plans and schedules are created and followed by developing solutions to project challenges
  • Develop project level reports and presentations to help facilitate project leadership level discussions across the enterprise.
  • Ensure the execution of team deliverables and adapt team priorities based on changing needs
  • Support the business in delivering projects by executing project management deliverables, working with relevant partners to develop the content of those deliverables, defining the project plan and creating follow up plans to sustain
  • Routinely provide oversight and consulting of multiple projects to achieve a unified transformational vision and provide direction to others for successful completion of value add, on-time, on-budget projects
  • Effectively manages project resources and external contractors / consultants in coordination of competing priorities
  • Liaise with senior leadership and relevant stakeholders; remove roadblocks where necessary
  • Scope new initiative opportunities or business issues and develop related business cases
  • Manage several medium to large projects at any given time; time horizon of projects generally ranges from short to medium term
  • Support vendor management and strategic sourcing process, managing RFP activities and partnering with vendor(s) to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
  • Applies Organizational Change Management principles and practices in order to effectively manage the people side of change (e.g., stakeholder analysis, business process management, people readiness, sustainment planning, etc.)
  • Proactively identify and implement best practices
  • Educate project team members on governance process and facilitate related sessions
  • Ensure the completion of team deliverables and set/adhere to team budgets, as applicable
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
  • Challenge the status quo and consistently identify areas for improvement, diagnose issues and working to resolve them

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • 5+ years’ progressive project-related experience
  • Knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management (waterfall, Agile, Scrum)
  • Experience working with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar) and digital tools (i.e. JIRA or similar).
  • Exposure to financial management with respect to tracking, forecasting and managing project budgets
  • Team player with ability to influence and achieve results through effective negotiation, problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in retail and large digital and non-digital transformation projects is required
