Job Description


The Developer, Front End supports the Online Production team with various front-end properties and content, while supporting customer facing ecommerce on chapters.indigo.ca and the Indigo app. Additionally, this role assists with HTML development and maintenance of event announcements, investor and corporate financial information and marketing promotions.   

  • HTML Coding of customer facing ecommerce site pages 
  • Management of rich media library, ensuring web standards compliance 
  • Apply tools, programs, methodologies and practices for the improvement of the online production process 
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current Internet trends including UI, technologies, vendors, services, and tools 
  • Day to day operational tasks to support the Online business 
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes 
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs 
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers 
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them 
  • Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily 
  • Share technical knowledge with others and actively seek to learn from those more knowledgeable than yourself

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized 4 year university or equivalent experience 
  • Very strong background in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQUERY, SKETCH and Adobe Photoshop 
  • Must be able to address HTML and scripting compatibility issues between different browsers and computing platforms 
  • Experience working with large scale Content Management Systems 
  • Experience with responsive site coding methodologies 
  • Ability to work independently and successfully in a dynamic, fast-paced culture  
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, planning and organizational skills  
  • Candidate must be self-sufficient and have good oral and written communications skills  
  • Must display patience and flexibility in dealing with changing project requirements and scope 
  • Innovative, customer focused with hands-on approach, able to multi-task & meet deadlines 
  • High degree of self-motivation and energy 
  • Focus on execution of responsibilities with a solution-based approach 
  • Belief in accountability, ownership, and communication, including active listening 
  • True belief in teamwork and the ability to understand the impact of one’s actions  
  • Strong desire to continuously learn and improve  
  • Bilingual English/French would be a strong asset
