Job Description


The Manager, SSPI (Strategic Sourcing and Profit Improvement) is responsible for leading all aspects of the Procurement process for non-merchandise goods and services. This individual provides a high-level of customer service to their stakeholders while also delivering meaningful improvements to planned financial objectives. They are a subject matter expert in the strategic sourcing process and negotiation. 

  • Build strong working relationships with key Indigo stakeholders  
  • Develop and implement strategies and objectives for assigned Indigo business teams that drive short and long-term efficiencies   
  • Drive continuous improvement within assigned categories 
  • Partner with Indigo business teams to develop and execute RFX events  
  • Conduct vendor negotiations, review contracts, and work with Legal on contract management and review process 
  • Ensure financial reporting (cost savings, avoidance, etc.) is accurate and timely 
  • Work with business partners to develop sourcing project pipeline 
  • Oversee critical supplier relationship management and contract management processes 
  • Execute balanced supplier selection metrics and scorecard 
  • Stays current in functional expertise 
  • Understands the impact to Indigo of changing external environmental factors (competitive, regulatory, technical, etc.) 
  • Acts as an Indigo ambassador in building and maintaining sustainable relationships across functions and departments 
  • Understand and follow Indigo's core HR process - staffing, performance management, rewards, and development 
  • Has the ability to see the total organization with an integrated perspective 
  • Work in a collaborative and constructive manner with team and cross functional partners 
  • Acts in a manner that promotes, and is aligned with, Indigo's Mission, Vision, Beliefs 
  • As a leader, holds others accountable in maintaining the integrity of Indigo's culture   
  • Enthusiastically promotes a culture of customer satisfaction



  • 5+ years, preferably in Procurement-related function 
  • Experience working in medium to large organizations 
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and projects 
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business, Economics or Engineering 
  • MBA an asset, but not required 
  • Previous negotiations training from leading institutions an asset 
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others at all levels of organizations 
  • Builds strong working relationships with key stakeholders 
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Practical experience negotiating and managing complex commercial agreements 
  • Highly analytical with an ability to draw insights from data 
  • Leads in a collaborative manner 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office competencies 
  • Process-driven with an attention to detail
