Job Description


The Developer works as part of a project team to deliver new features and system improvements for product, order and customer management systems which power Indigo’s omnichannel retail experiences. This role is responsible for developing components on a wide variety of systems within Indigo’s hybrid-cloud landscape, and will support the Development Team Lead on projects through design, development, bug fixing and deployment of their components. 

  • Development of solutions to meet business and technical requirements 
  • Review and provide feedback on business and technical requirements 
  • Review test cases generated by QA for correctness and coverage 
  • Support the deployment of developed solutions to each of the different environments 
  • Documenting of the developed systems and applications 
  • Development of unit tests to automatically test developed source code 
  • Provide status updates on progress to the lead developer and/or Development Manager 
  • Provide bug fixes to issues identified by the QA team 
  • Adhere to established Development and QA practices 
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes 
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs 
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers 
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them 
  • Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily 
  • Share technical knowledge with others and actively seek to learn from those more knowledgeable than yourself

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related program 
  • 5+ years of development experience, previous eCommerce experience desirable 
  • Excellent knowledge of C#, with experience in both .NET Framework 4.5+ and .NET Core 2.1+ 
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server / T-SQL for high-throughput OLTP scenarios 
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful and RPC APIs 
  • Experience building message-based systems, particularly on Azure 
  • Experience with serverless development, particularly on Azure 
  • Experience with WCF and MVC is an asset 
  • Familiar with Atlassian development tools (Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket) 
  • Strong communication skills, with a passion for software development and desire to solve problems
