Job Description


The Developer, QA provides software automated testing services to the Customer Solutions software development team for Online, Retail and Marketing applications.  They will apply their knowledge of QA test methodologies and practices, testing tools and technologies to produce high quality results.  



  • Create test approach documents, estimated automation ROI, time estimation and test scenarios for assigned features 
  • Help determine which tests should be automated for each feature 
  • Design and solution new approaches for test automation 
  • Implement and maintain automated test scripts to ensure that features are adequately covered by automated tests 
  • Participate in peer automation code reviews, ensuring that we are adhering to departmental standards in our automated code 
  • Interact with developers to ensure features meet expectations 
  • Perform exploratory testing as required 
  • Ensure Software Quality Assurance Standards are being met throughout the product lifecycle, be an active participant in agile ceremonies 
  • Consistently provide status reports detailing progress against objectives 
  • Report and evaluate defects and issues using a defect tracking system 
  • Highlight issues/risks to project lead or manager for resolution 
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes 
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs 
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers 
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them 


  • Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily 
  • Share technical knowledge with others and actively seek to learn from those more knowledgeable than yourself

  • Computer Science Degree, other related diploma or equivalent experience accompanied with formal computer training 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance with an emphasis on internet and e-commerce applications  
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience coding in Java, preference in experience using Java for QA automation, using Selenium or Appium  
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Knowledge of QA test methodologies and practices 
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and agile methodologies 
  • Experience coding in Java and using version control system (Git) 
  • Experience in relational databases and data validation, browsers and Windows / Mac OS operating systems 
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and requires minimal supervision 
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong ability to focus and work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies  
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
