To perform skilled and general maintenance work including both following and devising preventative maintenance strategies and effect emergency repairs on machinery and facility systems with an eye towards managing overall operating costs efficiently.
Key Performance Metrics
Workplace safety, organization, orderliness and general appearance.
Preventative maintenance and other emergency repairs completed on time.
Develop innovative and proactive approaches to task implementation and process improvements.
Follow safety standards, correct safety hazards where possible and notify management.
Know and follow all pertinent Indigo DC operations policies and practices including health and safety, problem resolution, attend and contribute to all mandatory meetings etc.
As part of the Indigo Maintenance team, maximize productivity individually and throughout the facility by operating in a primarily self-directed manner to improve efficiency of task completion by responding to and prioritizing assigned tasks, urgent or emergency issues, requests from management and or team members in a timely fashion.
Conduct urgent issues resolution for conveyor system in a timely fashion, including clearing jams, sensors cleaning or realignment, belt repairs and rapid escalation of more significant issues to
the appropriate individual(s) as required.
Perform basic Preventative Maintenance routines on automated conveyor system including adjustment of feed and drive belts, lubrication and inspection of key points as outlined in the service
literature; identification and rectification of early wear and tear symptoms in a planned, proactive, well communicated and documented manner.
Direct issues/concerns to the appropriate individual(s) in a reasonable time frame when required.
Preform preplanned preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery as outlined and assigned.
Analyze Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic and general operating systems to take corrective action as required, including the planning and execution of adjustments, temporary work-around, lubrication, parts replacement, diagnostic escalation, etc.
Inspect various external and internal building/general facility operational points to identify facility deficiencies such as worn doors/locks, snow removal/salting, general tidiness, minor plumbing/electrical issues, painting/plastering, etc., and reporting to management for further direction.
Provide and implement preliminary action plan for material Handling equipment issues by resolving obvious minor deficiencies (wood/plastic in wheels, changing batteries on trucks exhibiting a fault where discharged battery may be the root cause ,etc.) reporting more or extensive or serious issues to manager or other appropriate individual.

Provide general couching and task direction to mechanical helpers as needed.
Department Manager, Maintenance
Receives some task assignment, coaching and training from: Maintenance Management.
Interfaces and builds relationships with: other Team Members both in Maintenance and other Logistics departments.

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook)
The person will have minimum 1-2 years Scissor Lift, counterbalance, Raymond reach or turret truck experience. Valid certificate is required.
Understand importance of and commit to filing a daily log report.
