The Analyst, Supply Chain ensures product availability, timely communication and supply chain flow performance in order to meet the needs of the business. This role also supports the larger supply chain group through inventory storage capacity planning analysis.

Job Description



  • Purchase creation and maintenance

  • Data integrity of supply chain reports

  • Product availability (in-stock percent)

  • Product flow visibility

  • Exception management



  • Create, maintain, and follow through the purchase order lifecycle from placement to IN-DC for assigned business categories.

  • Maintain existing reports and publish according to agreed timelines

  • Ensure consistent review of supply availability to effectively optimize the inventory levels.

  • Identify inventory inaccuracies to provide effective resolutions including; closing purchase orders due to shortages, damages, long term unavailability, and items no longer available due to product being discontinued.

  • Execute the POs (purchase orders), highlight any potential risks/issues

  • Update POs (purchase orders) as required and ensure delivery information is current

  • Reviews promotional orders, taking into account current on hand inventory and the required vendor lead times to ensure goods are received on a timely basis for distribution to all stores.

  • Manages the process of ramping down inventory levels of future de-listed items.

  • Participate in cross-functional sessions with other areas of Supply Chain to align end-to-end processes.

  • Build and foster relationships with key Supply Chain/ Business stakeholders to ensure proper information flow.

  • Work with Transport, Distribution and Vendors to co-ordinate flow of goods through the network.


  • Acting as single point of contact between Category Management teams and the Supply Chain

  • Ensure on time delivery of goods

  • Undertake process improvement efforts, primarily with vendors, focused on improving KPI’s

  • Perform data mining and ad hoc data analysis primarily using MS Access and MS Excel

  • Support distribution centres during project roll outs

  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

  • 1-3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role within supply chain or retail organization

  • Previous experience with SAP and WMS is considered an asset


    Competencies / Skills / Attributes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs, specifically Excel and Access

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work with complex data systems and perform detailed analysis
